【Event Recap 】 Thank you, FOOD! Gratitude at My Table

2025/08/08

On Sunday afternoon, children gathered at the Plantarium space to participate in a parent-child event centered around gratitude for food. In this setting that promotes sustainability, plant-based eating, and environmental awareness, the little participants learned, step by step, through their words, hands-on creations, and enthusiastic involvement, how to truly appreciate every bite that nourishes their bodies.

The event began with a warm-up led by Teacher Jasmine, who guided the children through music and movement activities. The kids formed a circle and moved along with the cheerful melodies, stretching and swaying their bodies. This not only energized the atmosphere but also brought everyone closer together. With laughter filling the room, the stage was set for an interactive and gratitude-filled experience.

Next came the storytelling session, where Teacher Jasmine introduced the children to the idea that vegetables grow because of the sun, and we exist because of our parents. Many things in the world come from the care and effort of others, so it is important to learn to cherish and express gratitude.

During the DIY activity, each child created a unique “gratitude jar”, painting and decorating it to show appreciation for someone special in their life. Some wrote “Thank you! My parents” on their jars, while others carefully drew their favorite foods—a small reflection of gratitude within their own little world. Each jar held the child’s pure emotions and heartfelt intentions, as if saying, “I know you care for me, and I’m grateful.”

Jasmine sat on the floor and read a picture book while the children quietly gathered around, listening to a heartwarming story about gratitude and food.

At the end of the event, led by the teacher, everyone shouted together: “Thank you, FOOD!!!” Children raised their fruit and vegetable models high, voicing their appreciation for food. In that moment, the classroom shone not just with smiles, but with genuine respect and warmth from the heart.

The children raised their vegetable models, followed Jasmine in speaking English, acted out vegetable characters, and happily shouted, “Let’s eat!”

Thank you to all participants for making this gratitude-centered parent-child activity a complete success, and special thanks to plantarium for nurturing such meaningful values 🌱. We look forward to gathering again—learning from nature, growing through interaction, and falling in love with the world through play.
