On May 24, we stepped into a parent-child workshop that began with seeing, listening, touching, and playing.

From the very first picture book, the children were fully engaged—listening to the story while eagerly sharing their favorite fruits and veggies: “I like strawberries!”, “I like green peppers!”, “I like bananas!” To our surprise, most of them were actually quite open to different vegetables and fruits. Maybe they don’t love eating every single one, but the natural sense of curiosity, familiarity, and even appreciation became the warmest undertone of this event.
📘 After the story, we brought out a box filled with colorful materials: mushrooms, okra, zucchini, broccoli, baby corn… Instead of being served on a plate, these vegetables turned into brushes in the children’s hands. Dipped in paint and pressed onto paper, they transformed into one-of-a-kind artworks. Some kids used okra to stamp a row of stars, some made jellyfish with mushrooms, and others blended colors to create an imaginative “fruit-and-veggie jungle” 🎨.

🍃 In this class, we didn’t push knowledge onto the kids. Instead, we used the five senses and creativity to open up new ways of experiencing fruits and vegetables. The children weren’t just “eating” veggies with their mouths—they were seeing, touching, feeling, and imagining them in their own unique ways.
“Children naturally have the potential to connect with fruits and vegetables. Through this lighthearted and fun experience, they are taking small steps toward curiosity and affection.”
A heartfelt thank you to every child who played and stamped with joy, and to every parent who joined in. Together, you made this activity a warm, gentle bridge between children and their food.
