A different you
makes this place more interesting

From an idea to the thing itself. At plantārium you turn the issues you care about into projects, content and experiences people can walk into — starting as part of a team, ending up running your own.

WHY SUSTAINABILITY

Working here means making ideas actually happen

Sustainability decides what we eat every day, how we shop, how much living costs us, and what the next generation inherits. plantārium believes it should not stay a topic people only discuss, and it does not have to start with something enormous. It can be one meal, one choice, or one chance to look at daily life again.

Everyone here has their own expertise, and everyone crosses job lines to help run the building and its projects. The work does not only happen at a desk: from proposing an idea through planning, talking it through, making it and running it on the day, you get to see a whole project from end to end.

  • Content planning and coming up with ideas
  • Writing, image-making and video
  • Communication, coordination and client service
  • Event planning and running things on the day
  • Guiding, hosting and speaking to a room
  • Cross-role project work
  • Running a mixed-use venue
MEET THE TEAM

Twelve roles,
each doing something concrete

Everyone has their own core work, and everyone also joins in running the building, the education visits, client hosting and project delivery.

Head of venue

Manager

How the building runs each day and how the team works together both sit here: line manager to every role, and the final call on the floor.

  • Lead colleagues across every role, setting what we finish together each season and in what order
  • Keep hold of the day-to-day: opening and closing, rosters, the space and whatever comes up
  • Step forward on the things that matter with visitors, venue clients and the in-house brands
  • See how each person is doing and growing; step in when needed, let go when they are ready
  • Answer to the organisation for the venue’s results — bring the direction in, and the reality back
Venue marketing

Venue marketing

Helps more people discover the space and what it stands for, from first enquiry through to an event on the floor.

  • Plan venue packages and the marketing behind them
  • Answer enquiries and pull together what each client needs
  • Prepare quotes, contracts and pre-event reminders
  • Coordinate layout, equipment and on-site staffing
  • Build relationships with companies, brands and partners
Events

Event project planner

Turns sustainability, vegetarian food and youth empowerment into talks, workshops and experiences people can join.

  • Come up with themes and what the experience will be
  • Write the plan, the run sheet and the delivery schedule
  • Line up speakers, brands and partner organisations
  • Pull together venue, materials, budget and people
  • Gather feedback, records and results afterwards
Exhibitions

Space & exhibition planner

Lets the building speak — from a full exhibition to a theme wall to each place people pause along the way, all telling everyday sustainability.

  • Plan the direction and calendar for yearly exhibitions and themed displays
  • Turn sustainability, vegetarian food and local issues into exhibitions people can understand and walk into
  • Design flow, interactive pieces and captions, and coordinate production and install
  • Plan co-branded displays and pop-ups with the in-house brands and partners
  • Record results and visitor feedback and keep adjusting the next one
Education & tours

Sustainability education & tours

Turns the building into a lesson; hosts schools, companies and visiting groups so sustainability is understood, not just heard.

  • Plan the curriculum and materials for high-school sustainability visits
  • Host school, company and partner visits and lead sustainability tours
  • Design interactive experiences and run sheets, and train colleagues to help guide
  • Gather visitor feedback and keep adjusting the programme
  • Work with the in-house brands to bring food, retail and reading spaces into the teaching
Impact

Sustainability impact researcher

Turns what plantārium does every day into numbers and stories that can be seen and trusted, so the impact has a basis.

  • Build the methods and data behind meals served, carbon saved, visits and event attendance
  • Compile sustainability research and case studies to support the content, education and events colleagues
  • Write the yearly impact report and keep the website’s Our impact page and its notes current
  • Follow sustainability trends and policy at home and abroad and propose how plantārium can respond
  • Liaise with the organisation and partners on data so the numbers stay consistent and traceable
Editorial

Content editor

Watches what is happening here and writes the space, the events and the issues into clear, warm, readable words.

  • Plan articles for social and for the website
  • Write social posts, event promotion and venue copy
  • Gather and organise sustainability and education material
  • Edit the text for tours, decks and teaching materials
  • Proofread and keep information consistent across platforms
Design

Visual & content planner

Uses design and layout so event information, sustainability knowledge and what plantārium stands for get seen.

  • Make social posts and event promotion images
  • Design key visuals, posters and on-site wayfinding
  • Lay out decks, tour content and education materials
  • Produce venue and brand-partnership materials
  • Keep the visual style and file specs consistent
Film

Video producer

Records the space, the people and the action on film, and turns what happens here into something that travels.

  • Plan short-form themes and content direction
  • Develop scripts, shot lists and shooting approach
  • Shoot people, events and the building
  • Edit, subtitle and finish the films
  • Watch where video is going and pitch ideas that fit us
Social & digital

Social & digital

Looks after how plantārium shows up online — social, the website and online interaction — so the people who care can find us and want to come back.

  • Plan the social calendar and engagement, and answer messages and comments
  • Maintain website content, event sign-ups and online forms
  • Read social and website data and turn it into suggestions the team can act on
  • Work with the content, design and video colleagues to set the publishing rhythm
  • Manage the newsletter, member and online community lists
Front of house

Front of house & brand partners

The first person a visitor meets when they walk in, and the everyday bridge between the in-house brands and the team.

  • Carry out opening and closing, building checks and visitor flow
  • Respond to visitors, handle what comes up on site and report back
  • Be the everyday contact for the in-house brands (restaurant, bakery, market, bookshop, library)
  • Look after equipment, supplies and how the spaces are being used
  • Schedule and guide part-time and intern colleagues on the floor
Backstage

Operations coordinator

Rarely in the picture. But trace back almost anything that went smoothly here, and you usually end up at this desk.

  • Join up systems, workflows and resources so every role has solid ground to stand on
  • Track budget use and resource allocation, and liaise with the organisation on HR and finance
  • See every role’s timeline and needs, and clear the collisions before they happen
  • The first person people think to ask when something isn’t going right
  • Make it safe for the people out front to keep moving, because someone has their back
WHAT EVERYONE SHARES

Beyond your own core work,
these are done together

The building

Day-to-day operations

  • Help open and close, and walk the floor
  • Answer visitor needs and handle what comes up
  • Daily admin: collating records, filing and paperwork
  • Help look after equipment and talk to the in-house brands
  • Back each other up as the day needs it
Education

Education visits and hosting

  • Take part in high-school sustainability visits
  • Support visits from companies, schools and partners
  • Prepare materials, supplies and the space
  • Welcome groups and lead the sustainability tour
  • Help run the hands-on parts and keep the day moving
Clients

Venue client service

  • Host clients for a site visit
  • Walk them through the space, the equipment and how hire works
  • Help with client visits and building tours
  • Support load-in, equipment and whatever the day needs
  • Check and reset the space once the event is over
Delivery

Events and projects

  • Prepare and set up before the event
  • Welcome guests, speakers and partners
  • Support the run of the day and deal with what comes up
  • Write up records and what we learned
  • Deliver your own part in words, images or film
Everyday practice

Everyday sustainability

  • Keep up the day-to-day habits: less waste, sorting, saving energy
  • Gently bring visitors along — bring-your-own containers, sorting recycling
  • Join plantārium’s own sustainability actions, markets and volunteer days
  • Capture the good stories and moments on the floor and pass them to the content team
  • Suggest small improvements that make the building more sustainable, and try them together
THREE WAYS IN

Choose by your time and what you want out of it

01

Get to know the work

Start by understanding what each team does day to day, and find the part that interests you. This is an introduction to the work, not a current vacancy.

02

Credit-bearing internship

For students who need to complete a school-recognised internship during term. You work inside a real mixed-use venue and build industry experience through teamwork, content, events, hosting visits and the daily running of the building.

  • You must be a current student with a school-recognised credit requirement
  • Paperwork, hours and the agreement are arranged with your school and with us
  • You can work on content, events, design, film or operations, depending on your strengths and goals
  • The team briefs each task, gives hands-on guidance and reviews what you learned
  • This is an academic internship, not paid part-time work
03

Paid long-term part-time

For someone who wants to build experience on a regular shift pattern and commit to the building day to day, client hosting and event support. Pay and scheduling follow each posted vacancy and Taiwanese labour law.

  • Work a regular shift, help open and close and walk the floor
  • Answer visitor needs, host on site and give basic tours
  • Help with venue hire, event load-in and equipment
  • Handle daily admin: collating records, filing and paperwork
  • Help with set-up, supplies, dressing the space and resetting it
Nothing here fits you?

Then tell us what you want to do

If you care about how we live, about the environment and about the society around you, and you want your own skills to go further than finishing tasks — to see an idea through discussion and planning until it actually happens — we would like to hear from you.
